History of Grama Panchayat

Mavelikara Thekkekara Grama Panchayat is a major village panchayat in Mavelikara taluk of Alappuzha district. The panchayat is located in the Onattukara region, about 5 km south of Mavelikara town. This location gives special importance to the panchayat, both geographically and administratively. The panchayat was officially formed on 15 June 1953.
